Where is Cagayan de Oro? It is also known as the City of Golden Friendship is the capital of the province of Misamis Oriental, the regional center for Northern Mindanao. Originally chartered as a city as “Cagayan de Misamis,” its identify was eventually altered to “Cagayan de Oro” in acknowledgement of the gold mining activities in the area recognised by The Spaniard explorers.
